Video Game Music
As an avid retro video game enthusiast, with Tetris, Contra 3, F-Zero GX, Super Mario 3, Mega Man 2, Strikers 1945 III, River City Ransom, Life Force, ICO, and Tony Hawk's Underground being Matthew Shell's top 10 favorite games of all time, his 46-song album of completely original video game music creates a unique auditory experience that transcends traditional genre boundaries. Each track is meticulously crafted to evoke the emotional depth and narrative complexity often found in cinematic scores, yet each track provides variety and remains distinctly tailored to the interactive nature of video games.
By seamlessly blending electronic elements with his Flamenco guitar stylings, jazz saxophone by Douglas Lira, intricate sound design, and orchestral elements by Yoed Nir String Productions, Shell attempts to delight listeners and enrich future gaming experiences (as none of these songs are currently associated with any video games).

For added context, in 2008, Shell released a 24-song album of film music that went on to have almost every song featured in various films by directors Selton Shaw and Jason Baustin, among others. This album also opened doors to film scoring and ADR work for Shell with various film directors. Similarly, Shell hopes that releasing an original body of video game music can open the door to him scoring for video game developers in the near future.
Additional collaborators on this album include Tyrone Johnson (AKA Commoninterest), Ghen, Xela Black, Vincent Lyn, Molly Moore, Lau Souffront, Kenny McNeil, Angie Nicole, Nelly's Echo, Donna Britton Bukevicz, Ken Lasso (AKA Lazzo), Anna Lasso, and Adriel Genet, among others.

Film music for a jaded generation - Volume 2

It's the follow-up to Shell's 2008 "Film Music - Inspiration for a Jaded Generation" album release that lead to 24 of those songs being featured in various films.

This new album is mostly a solo Flamenco guitar fused with hip hop instrumental effort where Shell is playing almost all of the instruments. However, he is honored to included various collaborators, including Kenny McNeil, Angie Nicole, BlauDisS, Kendra J., Melina, Gabrielle Pisani, Donna Britton Bukevicz, Douglas Lira, Cord Martin, Sam Ojalvo, Sami Turunen, Glenn Welman, Hector Ruano, Guido Rodriguez, Ken Lasso (AKA Lazzo), Anna Lasso, and Adriel Genet, among others.
